Members of the Union City Middle School baseball squad celebrated their 2025 championship season with a team get-together recently at the home of head coach Tracy Bruff.

The Tornadoes, who won the NWTN Conference regular season and tournament championships with a sparkling 17-2 record, enjoyed a picnic, fishing rodeo, and awards ceremony to cap their memorable campaign.

Bruff, who’ll move to the UC high school program next spring as an assistant, lauded team members for their accomplishments individually and as a group. He heaped particular praise on a large group of 8th graders and presented all players with NWTN Conference championship T-shirts.

Eighth-graders Brayden Marshall, Preston Creswell, Mason St. Germain, Grady Gurley, and Jackson Huffstutter were chosen to the All-Conference team.

Individual awards from this past season were handed out to:

Co-Most Valuable Player Preston Creswell, Leadership Award Japeth Caldwell, and Tornado Award Camden WattsCo-MVP Brayden Marshall

New UCMS head coach Morgan Capen was also in attendance and introduced to team members who’ll return to next year’s squad.
