Cyndy Penrod

Cyndy Penrod, age 64, of Indian Mound, TN, was called home to her Heavenly Father on June 6, 2025, at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Born on April 25, 1961, she was the beloved daughter of the late Duane and Sarah Wraight Black.

Cyndy was a graduate of Susquehannock High School in Glen Rock, PA. She earned her master’s degree in preschool and special education from Austin Peay State University. Cyndy dedicated 26 years of her life to teaching at North Stewart Elementary School, where she nurtured and inspired countless children.

A woman of many talents and interests, Cyndy was an avid reader and found joy in expressing herself through painting. She was deeply devoted to her faith and served alongside her husband in the music ministry at Cross Creek Baptist Church, First Baptist Dover, Hillcrest Baptist Church in Clarksville, and most recently at Northeast Baptist Church in Clarksville. Her passion for ministry extended especially to children, where she made a lasting impact through her dedication and love.

Above all, Cyndy cherished her family. Married to the love of her life, Lonnie Dale Penrod, since August 6, 1983, she found her greatest joy in making precious memories with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Dale Penrod; daughter, Ecaterina Lynn Penrod; daughter-in-law, Erin Penrod; grandchildren, Sara Maxine Penrod, Jasmine Renee Penrod, Ryley Phoenix Penrod, and Temperance Faith Penrod; her brother, David Black.

In addition to her parents, Cyndy was preceded in death by her son, Lonnie Christopher Penrod.

A visitation and funeral service will be held at Anglin Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Bro. Tom Hughes. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
