Buchanan, Tenn.–Numerous first responders were called to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident with injuries and entrapment on Hwy. 79N Friday night.
At around 6 p.m., the Paris Landing Volunteer Fire Department, along with Henry County EMS, Paris-Henry County Rescue Squad, Henry County Sheriff’s deputies and the Tennessee Highway Patrol were dispatched to the intersection of Hwy. 79N and Oak Grove Rd. North.
Paris Landing Fire Chief Reggie Coles said arriving units found a white Jeep in the roadway with severe damage to the front and right side of the vehicle. The occupants of the Jeep were out of the vehicle with one minor injury, he said.
A blue Dodge Caravan was sitting in the opposite lane with severe damage to the front and driver’s side of the vehicle. Three occupants were still inside and the Jaws of Life was used by firefighters to gain access to the driver. All three were transported to Henry County Hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
On the scene were two Fire Department units, three ambulances, two Rescue Squad units, two sheriff’s units and three THP units.
