songwriters-night

Paris, Tenn.–Superstar songwriters Lee Thomas Miller and Wendell Mobley will headline the third annual “Paris Songwriter Night” set for tonight at the Crown Event Center in downtown Paris. The show is sold out.

“When you created songs such as ‘In Color,’ recorded by Jamie Johnson, ‘You’re Gonna Miss,’ recorded by Trace Adkins, ‘The Impossible,’ recorded by Joe Nichols, ‘I’m Still a Guy, Perfect Storm and The World,’ recorded by Brad Paisely, all co-written by Lee Thomas Miller and ‘Fast Cars and Freedom and Take Me There,’ recorded by Rascal Flatts, plus ‘There Goes My Life and That’s How Forever Feels,’ recorded by Kenny Chesney, all co-written by Wendell Mobley, you know everyone is in for a very special evening, said event coordinator, Henry County Trustee Randi French.

Miller is a native of Nicholasville, Ky., and wrote “The Impossible,” a single by Joe Nichols that was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2003 and earned a BMI Million-Air award for receiving 1 million radio plays. In addition to “The Impossible,” Miller has written six other number one country hits, including three that were hits for Brad Paisley — “The World,” “I’m Still a Guy” and “Perfect Storm.”

A native of Celina, Ohio, Mobley has written six songs that became Number One hits on the Billboard country chart.

He wrote Number One singles “How Forever Feels” and “There Goes My Life,” both hits for Kenny Chesney.

Rascal Flatts reached Number One on the country chart with three of Mobley’s songs — “Fast Cars and Freedom,” “Take Me There” and “Banjo.”

Mobley’s other Number One tune was “How Country Feels,” recorded by Randy Houser

“These two songwriters who frequently perform together are among the most in-demand in the United States for live performances, and possibly the most entertaining,” said Henry County native Bart Herbison, Executive Director of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI). “I personally asked them to perform this year and I promise our community is in for a treat. The stories and repartee that are part of their show are as amazing as their phenomenal songs.”

Tickets went on sale Tuesday, April 29 at 8:00 a.m. at the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce, 2508 E Wood Street. Phone (731) 642-3431. “Another record sell-out!  Tickets were gone in under an hour for the third year running.” The popular event which sold out quickly has occurred during Paris River Jam Week since its inception.
