Carroll County, Tenn.–The Hospital Wing Air Ambulance held its dedication ceremony for the new helicopter base at the newly-named Sgt. Lee Russell-Carroll County Airport on Thursday.
McKenzie Mayor Ryan Griffin said it was “an exciting day in Carroll County as we celebrated the opening of Hospital Wing’s newest base right here in our backdoor! This is a big win for emergency medical services in the Tri-County area.”
In attendance were members of Hospital Wing Air Ambulance, local emergency personnel, as well as county and local leaders. Griffin thanked Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler for his work in making it happen. “Grateful for my friend, Carroll County Mayor Joseph Butler, and proud to see our communities working together to make healthcare more accessible,” he said.

The base operates 24/7 with a three-person crew consisting of a pilot, nurse and medic.
