Dover, Tenn.–Stewart County Deputy Johnny Law was presented a life saving award pin and plaque for administering first aid on April 16th after responding to a house fire on Long Creek Road. Deputy Law’s quick action applying a tourniquet saved his life, due to the gentleman’s burns and a cut artery which was causing significant blood loss. He was airlifted to Vanderbilt. Thank you Deputy Law for your quick response, determination and dedication in using your Law Enforcement and Military training to save a life. The Lifesaver Award was started by Sheriff Gray and Chief Deputy Ward in 2018 to give deputies whose action goes above and beyond normal duties to save a life.
