The linemen at the Benton County Electric System exceled at this year’s Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo, with top finishes. The Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo is a two-day competitive event started in 1998 by and for the employees of the area energy companies. This year it was held in Murphreesboro.
“We are proud to announce the outstanding performance of our team at the 2025 Tennessee Lineman Rodeo. Journeyman Lineman Wes Brown brought home 1st Place Overall out of 52 competitors, with top finishes in multiple events including 2nd in Hurtman Rescue, 2nd in Crossarm Changeout, and 3rd in both Arrester Changeout and Single Phase Recloser Bypass,”according to officials.
“Our apprentices—Terrance Heathcott, Alex Kee, Weston Bivens, Jarett Thornton, and Brady Winchester—also represented Benton County Electric System with skill and determination, placing well above 50% of the 115 total competitors. We commend their hard work, preparation, and professionalism. Their performance reflects our team’s dedication to excellence and safety in the field. Congratulations to their due diligence in safety, mastering of the craft, and endurance in such a competitive environment.”
