Paris, Tenn.–The biggest crowd ever of kids came to the first day of the Summer Reading Program, put on each year by the W.G. Rhea Library and the Atkins-Porter Neighborhood Association. The AP Botanical Garden makes for a beautiful setting for the program. The kids enjoyed the stories read to them by Childrens’ Librarian Kayla Nation, as well as the toys and bubbles. Nation said with the crowd getting so big, plans are underway to move the Summer Reading program to the library and conduct outdoor activities on the green space between the library and L.I. Smith & Associates. The reading program is held at 10:30 a.m. Mondays. The refuge is holding activities at the AP Botanical Garden at 10:30 a.m. Thursdays. All are free to the public.
