Paris, TN – The Leadership Henry County Class of 2025 recently provided duffle bags containing personal hygiene items to the Henry County Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
Leadership Henry County, a program of the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce for the development of community leaders, participates in service projects annually to benefit the community. The 2025 class recognized a need among children and families in crisis in Paris and Henry County. The group wanted to help meet some basic needs of children when they are served by organizations like The Carl Perkins Center.
The project was made possible by fundraising and collecting donations from individuals and businesses in the community. So far, over $3,700 has been raised, with which the group was able to purchase 110 duffle bags containing personal hygiene items or baby items such as diapers and wipes and deliver them to the Henry County Carl Perkins Center.
Carly Wheat, Henry County Carl Perkins Center Director, expressed her appreciation: “These hygiene bags will make it possible to provide children and families with the basic hygiene needs during times of trauma. We thank the leadership team for their generous project and for dedicating their time to help serve children in the community.”
The Leadership Henry County class hopes to continue to provide additional bags and necessities to the center as needed. Those who would like to contribute can make monetary donations at First Bank, Mineral Wells branch. Donations of toothpaste, toothbrushes, combs, hairbrushes, deodorant, soap, shampoo, diapers, and baby wipes are also being collected in drop boxes located at the following locations:
Commercial Bank Mineral Wells Branch, First Bank Mineral Wells Branch, Carroll Bank & Trust, Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce, Paris Civic Center, and Paris City Hall.
The donation boxes have been decorated by Henry County Art students. Please limit donations to the items listed above.
