Paula Anne Scott, age 71, of Paris, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her daughters. Born in Aurora, Illinois, Paula spent the majority of her life in Paris, Tennessee, where she made a lasting impact through her work and love for family and friends.

Paula was the beloved daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Meketi, and the fifth of nine children. She is survived by two siblings, Kathy Pechavar of Edgewater, FL, and Tom Meketi of Winters, CA. She was preceded in death by her other siblings (Marcia Page, Jack Meketi, David Meketi, Dale Meketi, Laurie Meketi, and Mark Meketi) and her loving husband, Ronnie Scott, who passed in 2022.

A wonderful mother, Paula is survived by her three children: Kate (Ken) Rhodes, Amy (Gary) Mitchell, and John Paul (Ashley) Childers. She was the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren: John Michael Rhodes, Landon Rhodes, Brady Mitchell, Greyson Mitchell, Rylan Mitchell, Wyatt Mitchell, Landon Novak, Kyson Novak, Preston Novak, Abigail Childers, and John Jacob Childers.  She also held a special place in her heart for her nephew Drew Meketi, who was like a grandson to her.

Paula was a woman of great determination, resilience, and quick wit. Known affectionately as a “boss lady,” she approached every career and work opportunity with drive and dedication. In 1999, she earned her Bachelor’s degree from Bethel University. After marrying Ronnie Scott in 2013, they developed real estate together and founded Little Eagle RV Sales and Service Park, which Paula successfully managed until her retirement after Ronnie’s passing.

Like her mother, Paula was a woman of faith and raised her children in the Catholic church.  She found joy and community in her time on the golf course at the Paris Country Club. Paula’s wit and humor endured even as she battled Alzheimer’s disease in her final years. Despite the challenges, she remained at home with the support of her children and the loving care of her exceptional caregiver team: Tricia Taylor, Patty LaRose, Michaela Varner, Brenda Roberts, Heather Bass, Victoria Weeks, Lisa McNew, Melissa Robinson, and Shae Turner.

Her life was a testament to perseverance, faith, and love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation for family and friends will be at Ridgeway Funeral Home on Thursday, May 29th, at 5:00 – 7:00 pm.  The Holy Cross Legion of Mary will lead a rosary at 7pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Friday, May 30, at noon.  Interment of ashes will be scheduled at a later date in Memorial Cemetery.  May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
