Paris, TN – Henry County High School Senior Jay Provence had the privilege of being sworn in to the US Army today by his grandfather, Retired Colonel Harrison at the Paris Recruiting Office.
Sergeant First Class Heron and Sergeant First Class Grace said that it was “a special moment that undoubtedly filled both of them with pride and emotion.”
Provence is the son of Caroline Reynolds and Jon Connors. Col. Harrison is Reynolds’ stepfather. His Mom said, “We’re extremely proud of our son’s decision to serve his country and we look forward to the wonderful things he will do.”
Henry County High School’s graduation ceremony is tomorrow night, at 7:30 p.m. May 23, at Patriot Stadium. All students who have joined the US Armed Forces will be recognized at graduation with a braided red, white, and blue cord.
