Paris, Tenn.–An estimated 400 people attended the Battle of Paris commemorative event over the weekend in Paris. Spokesperson Wesley Frank said school children from local schools were on hand on Friday, along with visitors from all over. In addition to the local area, reenactors came from Clarksville, Kentucky and Texas. Even Robert E. Lee and his bodyguards were on the grounds. This year, the event was held on the grounds where the actual Battle of Paris was held during the Civil War–in the field across from McNeill Park. Shannon McFarlin photo.
