Human Remains Identified As Woman Missing Since 2022

Dyer County, TN – The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office is confirming that human remains found on April 6, 2025, in a wooded area off Ashley Road have been identified as those of Brandy Anderson (DOB: 12/02/1987), who was reported missing to Dyersburg Police Department on March 9, 2022. The confirmation comes after a thorough investigation and DNA analysis conducted by the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office, Dyer County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and the West Tennessee Regional Forensic Center.
On the day hunters found the remains, this prompted an immediate response from DCSO deputies and investigators, along with the Dyer County Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy was ordered, leading to the identification of the remains as belonging to Ms. Anderson, a 34 year old white female.
Sheriff Jeff Box said, “This is a heartbreaking development for Ms. Anderson’s family and our community. Our Investigators will work to identify the cause of death and provide her family with every piece of information we can.”
In light of these developments, the DCSO’s Criminal Investigation Division is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the events leading up to Ms. Anderson’s disappearance. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding her final days to come forward.
