Mr. Clarence Wallace, age 95, of Indian Mound, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Born on November 24, 1929, in Fort Henry, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Christopher Columbus Wallace and Vesta Morris Wallace.

Clarence was a man of quiet strength and unwavering character. In his early years, he earned recognition for his skill and passion as a fast-pitch baseball player. He began his working life at the Natcor Factory in Dover, but his true vocation unfolded in his longtime career as a commercial glazier, contributing to the construction of numerous buildings throughout the region. He was a proud and retired member of Local 456 of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT).

Yet, those who knew Clarence best will remember him most for his deep love of music. A skilled guitarist and vocalist, he brought joy to many through performances at church gatherings, community events, and local benefits. Whether entertaining a crowd or sharing a song among friends, Clarence’s music came from the heart and uplifted all who heard it. His spirit and genuine interest in others made him a friend to all; he never met a stranger.

A devoted member and former deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Clarence lived a life rooted in faith and service. He also enjoyed the outdoors, spending time fishing both recreationally and professionally.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Edna Lorene Wallace, as well as his siblings: Morris Wallace, Joe Wallace, J.C. Wallace, Maxine Wofford, Virdie Mae Atkins, Ilene Russell, Ramie Simpson, and Marie Steele.

He is survived by his children, Rickey Wallace and Debbie McElroy (Scott); his cherished grandchildren, Emily, Zoey, Shelby, and Ethan; and his great-grandchildren, Knox, Millie, and Addyson. He is also survived by his brother, Sammy Wallace, and a host of extended family and dear friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Anglin Funeral Home, and will continue on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. A celebration of Clarence’s life will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Anglin Funeral Home, with Brother Joe Shannon officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Indian Mound, Tennessee.
