Message from Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box:
“We want to inform our community that the areas where homes are flooded have been officially declared a disaster area. In response to this situation, a mandatory evacuation notice has been issued by the Dyer County Mayor.
“As part of the emergency measures, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) has closed down the boat ramp, and non-resident boaters will NOT be allowed access to areas where homes are flooded. This decision is crucial to ensure the safety of our residents and emergency responders.We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this challenging time. Please stay safe, follow the evacuation orders, and look out for one another.
