At 1:34pm, a one vehicle accident with injuries was reported at the 15 mile marker in I-69. Mayfield Fire and EMS, Wingo Fire Department, Graves Sheriff’s Deputies, and KSP responded.
Eight persons were in the vehicle, three of whom had to be extricated by using mechanical means.
The patients of the vehicle were transported by ambulances to Mayfield and Paducah area hospitals. The interstate had to be shut down for approximately 30 minutes.
Sheriff Jon Hayden said it would appear the vehicle which was traveling northbound, hydroplaned during a heavy rain, ran off the roadway and overturned against a tree.
