At approximately 9:00 PM, a confirmed tornado touched down in the Chestnut Glade Rd area of Weakley County, near the Henry County line.
Chief Fulcher of the Latham/Dukedom Fire Department said firefighters responded promptly and assessed the damage.
“Unfortunately, one home was completely destroyed, another sustained major damage, and several others incurred minimal to severe damage,” he said. “We ask the community to please keep the affected family in your thoughts and prayers, as they have lost their home. Thankfully, they were not present at the time of the tornado. For safety reasons, we urge everyone to avoid the affected area until further notice.”
