
A joint operation between the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office was conducted to investigate and address a drug problem that was linked to both Benton and Humphreys counties. Several unidentified were detained after evidence of drugs and a gun were found.
This investigation began in Benton county after investigators in Benton County working on a case, received information of a residence in Humphreys County that was a main supplier for the sale of narcotics in both counties.
A search warrant was secured for the residence on Long St. in New Johnsonville and in a joint operation with officers from Benton County and Humphreys County, the search warrant was executed, and several people were safely detained.
During the search, a large quantity of methamphetamine was found in a toilet after investigators found evidence of tampering. Also, during the search, a firearm was located within the residence and collected as evidence.
This is still an ongoing investigation, and investigators from Benton County and Humphreys County are currently still investigating this incident.
