Chuck Hammer has been named the play-by-play broadcaster for Union City Sports on FROGGY 99.3. Hammer will take the mic beginning with the station’s coverage of Union City High School baseball and softball.
Hammer joined the Forever Communications team in January 2024, bringing with him a wealth of experience in sports broadcasting and radio. Prior to moving to Union City, he served as program director of WUTM 90.3 FM “The Hawk” at the University of Tennessee at Martin from 2014-2016, leading the station to national recognition. He continues to contribute to the industry as the part-time program director for Fox Sports Shoals in Alabama, a role he manages remotely.
A graduate of UT Martin, Hammer earned his B.A. in Communications in May 2016. His dedication to service extends beyond broadcasting, as he honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 2007 to 2012 aboard the USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74).
Hammer and his wife, Jade, are proud parents of twins, Colby and Calleigh. As he steps into this new role with FROGGY 99.3, Union City sports fans can look forward to an exciting season of coverage with a passionate and experienced voice behind the mic.
