Dangerous Storm On Way; Henry Co. Shelters To Open

Dangerous severe thunderstorms will be moving through this evening into early Saturday. Henry County is included in a threat level 4 out of 5.  Damaging winds 75mph and tornadoes are possible.
Saturday another round of storms will move through bringing another threat of damaging winds and tornadoes.
All hazards are possible with both storms including large hail and flash flooding. Tonight will be a night event which makes it more dangerous for persons that may be sleeping.
The outdoor warning siren at KOA campground is out of service and is being repaired .
Tornado shelters will opened this evening at 8:30pm till the threat has passed expected to be around 2AM Saturday.  Shelters will reopen Saturday morning at 11AM till the threat has passed expected to be around late afternoon.

Timing for tonight’s threat is estimated for 9 pm to 2 am.  Saturday around 11am to 7pm.
Expect downed trees and power disruption due to high wind and soil conditions from recent heavy rains.  Persons should have multiple ways to receive warning information.
Make sure you have a sturdy building to take shelter.

Lakewood School, Hwy 79 N, Buchanan/Springville
Henry School, Pioneer Rd, Henry
