Students at Union City Elementary School celebrated Dr. Seuss Week last week with several reading exercises and fun-filled dress-up days.
Principal Allison Palmer and school librarian Mindy McClanahan also collaborated to welcome grandparents to campus for the annual student book fair.
Additionally, many parents, teachers and community members donated money to ensure that every student was able to purchase a book.
Family members were allowed to take their students to the library to purchase books and other keepsakes, and the school also benefitted from the sales in the fundraiser.
Mrs. McClanahan said the event was again one of the largest fund raisers of the year with both the school and teachers benefiting from Scholastic books.
