Martin, Tenn.–The UT Martin Regional Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (REED) Center housing the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) awarded the center’s TSBDC Rising Star Award to Morgan Stone, family nurse practitioner and owner of Cornerstone WholeHealth 360 in Martin.

Landy Fuqua, director of the REED Center, presented Stone with the award.

The TSBDC Rising Star Award is given annually to a business that exemplifies an outstanding business model, a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to growth and development. Recipients demonstrate not only resilience and innovation in building their business but also a dedication to community engagement that fosters positive economic impact in the region.

This prestigious recognition highlights business owners who have worked closely with the UT Martin REED Center to bring their vision to life and achieve lasting success.

Morgan had a bold vision to create a health care clinic that broke away from traditional insurance models, offering holistic, patient-centered care. Bringing that vision to life was a challenge, but with guidance from the center, she developed a strategic business plan, secured financing and officially opened Cornerstone WholeHealth 360 on Aug. 10, 2023.

Her clinic, located in Northwest Tennessee, is already making a significant impact by offering functional health care in a way that prioritizes individual needs over standard systems.

“Starting a clinic is overwhelming, but designing a completely new health care model was paralyzing,” said Morgan. “Landy and her team helped me take my vision and turn it into a thriving, life-changing, holistic business.”
