Union City, Tenn.–Set-up is underway for Discovery Park’s latest Southern Artist Showcase featuring metal sculptor Dave Dunn. His Reelfoot Critters collection includes 14 imaginative sculptures crafted from repurposed metal—bicycle cassettes, rebar rods, medieval armor and much more. Some pieces are inspired by Reelfoot Lake, while others come straight from Dunn’s imagination.
In the photo, Dunn installs Imperator Eagle, one of the featured sculptures. Using a MIG welder, plasma cutter and forge, he transforms steel and iron into whimsical, lifelike creations, finishing them with a unique hydro dip painting method.
Join Discovery Park today, Feb. 27, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for the Opening Reception. At 6 p.m., Discovery Park’s Jennifer Wildes will host a Q&A with the artist. This free event includes light refreshments, and all are welcome!
