rives-evacuations-feb-16-2

Rives, Tenn.–The following is the latest message from Obion County Mayor Steve Carr regarding assistance available to those impacted by the recent flooding:
Dear Obion County Family,
I want to give an update regarding the assistance we are providing to the residents of Rives affected by the recent flooding.
I’m pleased to share that I have partnered with a local electrical contractor who will help restore electricity for those impacted. I know how important this matter is to our citizens and it is my priority to ensure that everyone has their electrical services restored as quickly as possible.

Next week, a dedicated team will arrive to begin the cleanup and restoration efforts for flood-affected homes in Rives. I have been collaborating with Marshall Key, the Director of Missions for the Beulah Baptist Association, to coordinate the arrival of the Southern Baptist Disaster Response Team. They will provide cleanup and restoration services at NO COST to the residents. My goal is to ensure that all flood victims receive the support they need to feel comfortable in their homes again. I have been in constant communication with numerous individuals to facilitate assistance for those affected by this disaster.

I would also like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has helped support our flood victims. In Obion County, we truly are one big family, and we care for one another. Although we have faced significant challenges in the past few days, our community has come together tirelessly to ensure that our neighbors who have been impacted are well cared for.
My heart goes out to those displaced by the flood, and I am deeply moved by the generosity and support shown by our Obion County family, as well as by countless friends and neighbors from beyond our community.
I have always loved serving as your Mayor in Obion County, and I am prouder than ever to be part of this community as we navigate this challenging situation together. You all are never far from my thoughts and prayers and I love you all.
Sincerely,
Steve Carr
Obion County Mayor
