
Obion, Tenn.–The Obion Fire Department experienced a high volume of activity yesterday, responding to multiple public assist and emergency calls.
Members spent hours preparing for these events as they were expected with the forcasted winter strorm and extensive flooding.
At 7:45am, a call was received to evacuate residents from a home surrounded by flood waters. A similar call was received at 12:21pm to evacuate residents from a home also surrounded by flood waters. At 7:17pm, a dispatch was made to HWY 51 for a vehicle off in the water near the Obion River Bridge. While on scene, an additional call was received regarding another vehicle off in the water between Obion and Trimble. At 7:46pm, another medical call was received in town.
Firefighters said, “We are grateful for the dedication of our members and the public’s role in the successful outcome of these emergencies.”
