Dorothy Key Hunt, 88, of Paris, TN, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, February 13th at McEvoy Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Hart of the Paris Church of the Nazarene and her grandson, Thomas Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Walker Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thomas Hunt, Jacob Hunt, Ryan Swor, Jerry Hunt, Mark Hunt, and Tommy Swor. Visitation will be after 11:00 am Thursday, February 13th prior to the service at McEvoy Funeral Home. Dorothy Key Hunt was born June 23, 1936, in Murray, KY to the late Bailey and Tempie George Key. She married Aubrey Hunt on March 2, 1952, and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2014.
Mrs. Hunt spent her life as a devoted housewife and cared for many family members. Her pride was her family, and she loved the titles of mother, granny, and great granny. She was a long-time member of the Paris Church of the Nazarene, first attending when she was 6. She was a devoted follower of Jesus.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Jan, and husband Tommy Swor of Paris, TN; sons: Jerry Hunt of Springville, TN, and Mark Hunt of Ft. Worth, TX; three grandsons: Ryan Swor of Huntsville, AL, Jacob and his wife Kacey Hunt of Clovis, CA, and Thomas and his wife Kelsey Hunt of Arlington, TN; and six great-grandchildren: Ian Hunt, Nolan Hunt, Georgia Hunt and Tristen Hunt of California and Eli Hunt and Haley Hunt of Arlington, TN.
Besides her parents and husband, Dorothy was also preceded in death by three sisters: Betty Jo Ross, Georgia Beckwith, and Linda Riggins.
