BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Sophomore Daejah Richmond of the University of Tennessee at Martin was named as the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning. The honor is the second OVC accolade of Richmond’s career after being named as OVC Freshman of the Week on Nov. 28, 2023, at Southeast Missouri
Richmond averaged a double-double over both games last week with 15.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game, in addition to 5.0 assists and 3.5 steals. The sophomore had 13 points and team-highs of 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals in the loss to Lindenwood. She followed that up with 17 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals against Western Illinois. Richmond has now recorded a double-double in three consecutive games, the first three of her career.
Richmond and the Skyhawks return to OVC road play Thursday when they travel to the Land of Lincoln for a 5 p.m. tip-off at SIUE.
