MARTIN, Tenn. – Seven UT Martin faculty and staff members were selected for the annual UT Leadership Institute, Feb. 16-21, in Chattanooga. Founded in 1981, the leadership institute is a UT System-wide program that recognizes and encourages the leadership development of the university’s faculty and staff. Approximately 50 participants from University of Tennessee institutions and administrative units are invited to attend. The selection process is competitive, and institute participants are selected based on nomination statements submitted by nominators, who are university employees. The direct supervisor provides support and approval for the nominee. The institute recognizes faculty and staff who have demonstrated exemplary leadership skills and abilities and are identified as having potential for even greater service to UT and Tennessee higher education.
