Union City, Tenn.–Reading is not only fundamental, but it also comes with prizes at Union City Elementary School.
Ten UCES students were recently rewarded with a trip to Southlane Bowling Center, where they enjoyed bowling, games, and pizza after accumulating 100 AR (Accelerated Reader) points over the last nine weeks.
Among those students who enjoyed the recognition were:
Molly Grace Miller, Nora Keathley, Sailor Goodman, Kora Jess Powers, Carlisle Peery
Henry Baumgardner, Mateo Rico-Rivera, Ollie Keathley, Brandt Sherwood, Maliyah Smith
In the program, students are allowed to choose the books they read. They then earn AR points after taking quizzes on their readings.
Other prizes given out at the conclusion of the nine-week period included gift cards, ice cream, a pizza party, cupcakes, and sodas.
All prizes were provided by the Union City Elementary School PTO.
