Wanda Green, age 93 of Paris passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 23rd at McEvoy Funeral Home, with Bro. Gerald Scott of Temple Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm Thursday, January 23rd before the service at 2:00.
Wanda was born July 30, 1931, in Hatten, AL to the late John Wesley & Velma Dunlap Warren. On December 20, 1947, she married F.G. Green, who preceded her in death on May 26, 1975. She married J.W. Green on March 21, 1981, and he preceded her in death on May 11, 2005.
Wanda was big into genealogy. She was an avid reader and known for Grandma Green’s strawberry cake.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Dale) Cummins of Paris; her son, Ronnie Green of Paris; grandchildren: Chris (Donna) Scott, Brad Scott, Jared Green, and Candice (Christopher) Baxter; step-son, Clyde (Jeanette) Green of Salinas, CA; twelve great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including Donna Winchester and Gerald Tyler.
Besides her parents and husbands, Wanda was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruby Wimberley; and her brothers: Garner and A.G. Warren.
Pallbearers for Ms. Green will be Brad Scott, Josh Scott, Cody Cummins, Dale Cummins, Jared Green, Chandan Green, and Christopher Baxter.
