Dyersburg, Tenn.–Big news for Dyersburg/Dyer County and our region. State and local officials Friday celebrated the groundbreaking of a new 100,000 square foot speculative industrial building, marking a significant milestone in the area’s economic development efforts. This project is the culmination of years of teamwork from our IDB, City Government, County Government, Dyersburg Electric, & many community members, starting with the site’s purchase back in 1998. A special shoutout to the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development for their game-changing $5 million grant, the largest in state history! Chamber officials said, “Thanks to everyone who contributed along the way; we are excited to see RFW erect this great building. Together, we’re building a brighter future for our community and attracting new opportunities. Let’s keep the momentum going!” State Economic Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter was on hand for the groundbreaking, which was held at the Commerce Park Interstate Site, a Select Tennessee Certified Site. The project received a $5 million Site Development Grant and will be the first speculative building to be constructed using funds from the program. (Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber photo).
