Paris, Tenn.–Bidding was high today at the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction, leading to a total $12,651 raised and bringing the year-to-date total to $64,968. The annual auction raises thousands of dollars for some 100 non-profit service organizations. This year, the auction runs through February 26.
As an example of high bidding the coconut cake donated by Cotton and Betty Sanders of the Pleasant Hill community went for $1,150. There was a total of 21 slates of donated items and once again, all the freezers were full. Auctioneer today was Wendy Barnhart with the Paris Quota manning the phones. On Friday, Junior Staggs will be auctioneer.
Today items were donated by the Oakland community, Junior Livestock, Latter Day Saints, Habitat for Humanity and Pleasant Hill community. On Friday, items will be donated by Central Point, Bridge of Hope Church and Tennessee Valley High Bass Club. Saturday is Educator’s Day.
Auction phone is 644 1695. The auction is held at the Paris Convention Center at 1510 East Wood St., Paris. Dozens of groups and local communities raise thousDonaands of dollars each year for over 90 non-profit service organizations.

The auction begins at 12:30p.m. on weekdays and noon on Saturdays.
