Dover, Tenn.–This week, Fort Donelson National Battlefield staff and volunteers have been working together to remove the commemorative wreaths from the Fort Donelson National Cemetery.
On December 17,over 100 volunteers took part in commemorating those at rest within the cemetery by placing a wreath at each grave marker. This annual undertaking is part of the Wreaths Across America initiative. Fort Donelson officials said, “Whether in the placement of the wreaths in December, their removal yesterday, or both endeavors, we appreciate everyone’s participation for this year’s wreaths event.” Fort Donelson photo.
