“Awesome” Day Yields $19,242 For Helping Hand Auction; $39,643 So Far

hh-25-jan-14

Paris, Tenn.–As Auctioneer Andy Collins said, today was “awesome” at the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction, with $19,242 raised. That brings the year-to-date total to $39,643. “We’re off and running and doing good,” Collins said.

The afternoon started off busy with $7,600 in donations received right off the bat–from Security Bank, the Security Bank Employees Benevolent group, Becki Walker and Boo and Laurie McIntosh.

Manning the phones today was the Lakeway Kiwanis Club. Auctioneer on Wednesday will be Jamie Orr and the Paris Lions will be manning the phones.

With the two days off due to weather, rescheduling changes for donating organizations were already announced. Wednesday will be an especially busy day, with Kroger, Henry County Prevention Coalition, Jones Mill/Hico community, Charter Senior Living, Henry County Employees, plus the rescheduled groups from the Osage/Airport community, Paris Rotay, and Party Bounce and Jump.

On Thursday, items will be donated by the Oakland community, Junior Livestock, Latter Day Saints, Habitat for Humanity and Pleasant Hill community.

Auction phone is 644 1695. The auction is held at the Paris Convention Center at 1510 East Wood St., Paris. Dozens of groups and local communities raise thousands of dollars each year for over 90 non-profit service organizations.

The auction is broadcast daily at our radio station WHNY, 104.7 FM/AM 1000; on our website at radionwtn.com and on the Henry County Helping Hand website.

The auction begins at 12:30p.m. on weekdays and noon on Saturdays.
