How You Can Help Family Displaced By House Fire

oakland-fire-2

The Oakland Volunteer Fire Department has initiated several ways the public can come together as a ciommunity to assist the Etzel family in their time of need. As we reported Sunday, the Etzel home was destroyed by fire over the weekend and they lost everyting.
As the family is currently displaced and does not have room to store an abundance of items, they are asking for gift cards/cash donations so that they can get necessary items as they are needed.
– Gift cards/cash donations may be safely donated to our secure drop box outside of the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department at 4435 Hwy. 69S.
– If you choose, you may make a cash donation directly to Samantha via Venmo at @Samantha-Etzel-1 (a photo of her Venmo is attached so that you know you are sending payment to the correct person). Cash donations may also be made to an account at Security Bank starting tomorrow.
– Sign up and/or donate to the meal train here: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/qlqlnr
– If you would like to donate items that will be useful while the family is displaced, the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department (4435 Hwy. 69S) will be unlocked between 7 A.M. – 6 P.M. this week (01/06-01/10) for donations of the following items:
• trash cans and garbage bags
• Clorox wipes
• paper plates, bowls, & disposable utensils
• toilet paper
• paper towels
• bottled water
