Paris, Tenn.–The 2025 Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction got off to a running start today, with 144 individual items and 14 slates donated for the auction. A total of $5,895 was raised today.
The auction runs from January 6 through February 26 and each year raises thousands of dollars for some 90 local non-profit public service organizations. Over $500,000 was raised in 2024.
Right off the bat, the Kiwanis Club of Lakeway-Paris donated $1,000 to Helping Hand in honor of long-time member Rita Reed. She is resigning from Kiwanis and members wanted to donate to honor her service to both Kiwanis and Helping Hand. Bruce and Rita Reed have moved to Collierville and Bruce Reed also has resigned as President of Helping Hand. New Helping Hand President is David Flowers.
Items today were donated by Kiwanis and the Paris Lions Club and auctioneers were Jamie Orr and Andy Collins. Manning the phones were members of the Athena Delphians.
Tuesday’s items will be donated by the Henry County Fair Association, Henry County Masonoic/OES Martha Chapters; Paris Academy for the Arts, Paris First United Pentecostal Church; Moose Lodge. Wednesday’s items will be donated by East Wood Clinic, Tomorrow’s Hope, Paris SUrgical Specialists West Tennessee Bone & Joint Clinic; and Thursday Quota, Carey Counseling, Downtown Paris Association and REI Asphalt Seal.
Auction phone is 644 1695. The auction is held at the Paris Convention Center at 1510 East Wood St., Paris.
The auction is broadcast daily at our radio station WHNY, 104.7 FM/AM 1000; on our website at radionwtn.comand on the Henry County Helping Hand website.
The auction begins at 12:30p.m. on weekdays and noon on Saturdays.
