Ronnie D. Norwood, age 76 of Paris, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, at his residence. His funeral service wasat 2:00 pm Monday, December 30th at McEvoy Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Robertson of Spring Creek Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ronnie Dale Norwood was born August 17, 1948, in Henry Co., TN to the late Phillip & Katherine Bomar Norwood. On July 27, 1972, he married Nancy Boyd Norwood, who survives in Paris.
Ronnie was the current active Commander at VFW Post 1889, where he was a lifetime member. He was an honorary member of the Unforgotten Motorcycle Club, served 42 years in the Army National Guard, all in Paris, TN. He was member of Spring Creek Baptist Church where he served as deacon, and he was a Global War on Terrorism, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran.
In addition to his wife, Ronnie is also survived by his daughter, Tara Lambert of Hattiesburg, MS; sons: Jerrod (Gina) Harris of Memphis and Cory (Christie) Norwood of Covington, TN; grandchildren: Marci, Logan, and Brodie Seal; Cheyenne and Savannah Harris; and Peyton and Piper Norwood; sister, Kathy Briggs of Jackson, TN; brothers: Gary (Jocelyn) Norwood of Hollow Rock, TN and Stevie (Teresa) Norwood of Mansfield, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides his parents, Ronnie was also preceded in death by a son, Frankie Norwood; granddaughter, Serinity Harris; and sister, Nancy Hall.
Pallbearers for Mr. Norwood will be Lt. Burns, SSG Parish, SFC Yates, SSG Maghamez, & SFC Beauvais.
