Murray Man Charged With Hazel Assault

Hazel, Ky.–Calloway County deputies arrested a Murray man after a physical assault in Hazel. He and a female companion — who was charged with hindering prosecution–were arrested on Christmas Day after the December 20 assault.
On December 20, deputies responded to a call about a physical assault at a residence in Hazel. The residents reported that Rick White had forced his way into their home, despite having been previously criminally trespassed from the property. When the residents tried to remove him, White reportedly assaulted them. He left before officers arrived and refused to cooperate with the investigation, prompting the issuance of an arrest warrant, according to deputies.
On December 25, deputies believed White might be at an apartment on Diuguid Drive. When they attempted to make contact, neither White nor the resident, Kimberly Puckett, would answer the door. Surveillance of the apartment revealed White and others exiting.
According to deputies, when he noticed deputies approaching, he ran back inside. He was found hiding in the apartment and resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody. Puckett was found in possession of illicit drugs and was also charged with hindering White’s apprehension.
