Paris, Tenn.–Exactly one week from today, the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction begins and for two solid months, there will be a flurry of activity as dozens of volunteers and local organizations band together to provide items for the annual auction. In all, thousands of dollars are raised and distributed to some 90 local non-profit service organizations.
Over $500,000 was raised in 2024 and the money is raised one homemade pie at a time.
The 2025 Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction begins January 6 and ends February 26. Auctioneers and volunteers have already gathered to set their calendar for the two-month-long event. The auction again will be held at the Paris Convention Center at 1510 East Wood St.
As is tradition, Lakeway Kiwanis and the Paris Lions Club will kick off the first day, with Auctioneers Jamie Orr (a member of Kiwanis) and Andy Collins (a member of the Lions Club) at the mike that day.
Auctioneers this year are Andy Collins, Noel Hatman, Ray Compton, Wendy Barnhart, Jamie Orr, Junior Staggs, David Jackson, Darrin Thompson and Amy Veazey. Doug Taylor is auctioneer for night auctions.
The event will again be on our radio station WHNY 104.7FM and 1000AM and will be livestreamed on our website and the Helping Hand website. We’re livestreamed on www.radionwtn.com. The Helping Hand website is at hchelpinghand.org.
The auctions begin at 12:30 on weekdays and Saturday auctions begin at noon. Donated items accepted unti 9 a.m. Label all items with community or group, name of donor, and a description of each item.
