Lost Hunters Rescued With Thermal Imaging Drones

Savannah, Tenn.–Using thermal imaging drones, the Hardin County Fire Department rescued two lost hunters in the Walker Branch Wildlife Management Area overnight. One of the lost hunters is nine years old.

At 9:34 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27,  Hardin County firefighters responded to Walker Branch WMA on Diamond Island Drive on a report of two lost hunters.

The hunters had called 911 but their phone battery died, before their location could be pinpointed. Firefighters launched two thermal imaging drones and the missing adult and nine year old were found within five minutes, the hunters were not hurt and firefighters assisted them out to the main road.
