
On Wednesday December 18, 2024 at approximately 12:30PM, a homeowner located on State Route 97, approximately 4 miles south of Mayfield called to report that he had caught a man inside of his house. After confronting the man, the suspect fled out of the home and got into a vehicle and sped away. The homeowner was able to get a photograph of the vehicle as it was fleeing.
The Graves County Sheriff’s deputies responded but was unable to locate the vehicle in the area. The photograph that was taken by the homeowner showed the vehicle to be a maroon Chevrolet Tahoe, bearing and Illinois registration plate of 3774090B.
An area wide law enforcement teletype was sent out to all surrounding law enforcement agencies alerting them that the Graves County Sheriff’s Office were looking for this vehicle in connection to a residential burglary.
The following day, on December 19, 2024 at approximately 4 PM, the sheriff’s office was notified that the Union City Tennessee Police Department had located the vehicle at a Walmart there.
Officers waited for the driver to return to the vehicle. As the driver was exiting the Walmart, and as officers approached him, he fled on foot back into the store. Her was apprehended after a foot chase through the Union City Walmart. According to Union City Police, the suspect they detained had in his possession, a large sum of cash, and a quantity of Fentanyl.
Graves County Sheriff’s detectives travelled to Union City late Thursday evening to identify and interview the suspect. He was identified as being Charles T. Livvix age 40 with a last known address in Toledo, Illinois. He was in fact the registered owner of the maroon Chevrolet Tahoe that was photographed fleeing the Graves County residence the day prior.
Livvix refused to answer any questions by the detectives. His booking photo was placed in a photo lineup and shown to the Graves County homeowner on Friday. The homeowner positively identified Livvix as the man that he caught inside of his home on December 18.
An arrest warrant for 40-year-old Charles T. Livvix is being obtained by Graves Sheriff’s detectives charging him with Burglary 2nd Degree.
