Paris, Tenn.–Eagle Scout Avery Jackson of Troop 28 in Henry County designed and built artificial fish structures for use on Kentucky Lake. He used donated materials and created them in partnership with the TWRA Fisheries crew. According to TWRA, the structures don’t create more fish, but serve as habitats to concentrate bass and crappie, making them easier for anglers to find and enjoy.
Avery is the son of Tony and Daphne Jackson and a senior at Henry County High School. He was a member of the HCHS Fishing Team. Matt Hayes of Troop 28 said Avery worked on the project for a month of Saturdays.
Avery Johnson, an Eagle Scout, designed and built artificial fish structures using donated materials that are now enhancing KY Lake. These structures, created in partnership with our TWRA Fisheries crew, don’t create more fish but serve as key habitats to concentrate bass and crappie, making them easier for anglers to find and enjoy.
TWRA officials said, “Thanks to Avery’s creativity, hard work, and dedication, local fishermen will have even better opportunities to reel in their next big catch! A huge shoutout to Avery for his incredible contribution to our waters and for giving back to his community in such a meaningful way.”
