Springville, Tenn.–A very productive winter waterfowl banding day –not to mention a cold one–was held on Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge, capturing more than 100 ducks of five different species. A total of 97 birds were banded. This banding was also in conjunction with Tennessee Tech’s Mallard Project in which 10 transmitters were placed on mallards and 10 on gadwalls. One green winged teal was recaptured that the refuge had banded in February of 2022. (Refuge photo).
