Phyllis “PJ” Robbearts

Phyllis Jeanne “PJ” Robbearts age 74 of Buchanan, TN, died Saturday, November 30, 2024, at her residence.

PJ retired from Caterpillar after working several years as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed fishing, reading, painting landscapes, and making people laugh. She was known by others as the Lady of 1000 jokes. PJ was a member of Tennessee Valley Community Church in Paris.

She married Jerry L. “Lee” Robbearts October 13, 1990, and he survives of Buchanan.

Born February 14, 1950, in Pontiac, IL, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. Spray, and the late Dorothy Joanne Gruber Spray.

In addition to her husband of 34 years, she was also survived by five children, Christopher (Donald) Gee of Normal, IL, Marjorie Griggs of Tucson, AZ, Anthony Lee Robbearts, of  Camden, TN, Latisha Ann (Richard) Beacham of Camden, TN, and Gregory Bruce (Jessie) Robbearts of Wright City, MO; five sisters, Margo Usher of Palm Coast, FL, Kathy (Wayne) Pelhank of Normal, IL, Carla Hill of Bloomington, IL, Patti Reener of Bloomington, IL, Nancy (Daniel) O’Brien of Normal, IL, and Charles “Bud” Spray of Normal, IL; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Along with her parents, a grandson and two brothers in law preceded her in death.

Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, will be handling her arrangements. Her body is to be cremated with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
