Kyle Spurgeon Named Grand Marshal, Jeff & Jennifer Morris DPA Ambassadors At Paris Christmas Parade

Paris, Tenn.–The Downtown Paris Association is pleased to announce that Kyle Spurgeon, CEO of the Greater Jackson Chamber will serve as the Grand Marshal of the 2024 Holly Jolly Electric Christmas Parade to be held on Monday, December 9th at 6 pm.

According to DPA Tara Wilson, “We are thrilled to have Kyle serve as Grand Marshall of this year’s parade.  Kyle is held with the utmost respect across the state.  He is a proud Henry County native and has been instrumental in the economic development of the entire region.  We hope all will attend the parade and welcome Kyle Spurgeon back to Paris!”

 

Also announced are the 2024 DPA Ambassadors,  Dr. Jeff and Jennifer Morris. Each year DPA selects a person or persons that have gone above and beyond to assist and support the efforts and mission of the association for the betterment of our downtown.

 

Dr. Jeff and Jennifer Morris have been active supporters of downtown Paris for many years.  Jennifer served as Interim DPA Director and Jeff has always been present as an avid supporter and sponsor, both willing to step in and do whatever possible to help the Downtown Paris Association.

 

Wilson said, “The Downtown Paris Association is not what it is today without the selfless work of Dr. Jeff and Jennifer Morris.  They are always willing to lend a hand and do whatever possible for the betterment of our downtown district.  We are forever grateful for their service and could not be more excited about recognizing them as DPA Ambassadors.”

Parade winners are chosen in several categories: Most Christmas Spirit, Best Religious Theme, Best Decorated Float, Best Marching or Walking Unit, Best Decorated Golf Cart or Small Tractor, and the prestigious Clark Griswold Award, given to the best illuminated.

Staging for the parade begins at 5 p.m. in the parking lot of First Baptist Church at the corner of Ruff and North Brewer streets. From there, the parade will take the same route as last year: down North Brewer Street (past our radio station WTPR), crossing East Washington and East Wood and then turning onto East Blythe. It then will pass by

The parade will begin by heading south on North Brewer Street, crossing East Washington and East Wood streets before turning onto East Blythe Street and from then on past the Henry County Courthouse.
