Henry, Tenn.–The Henry Volunteer Fire Department extinguished a fire in the back of The Family Table Restaurant Sunday afternoon. Mutual aid was provided by the Paris Fire Department.

According to the press release, the Henry Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched around 1:30 p.m. to 9 Dogwood St. for a structure fire with smoke showing.

Nine firefighters from Henry responded to find The Family Table with smoke coming from the roof. According to the fire department, firefighters raced to do a 360 and check for gas and electric outside. Once cleared the team made a fast interior attack and was able to extinguish the small fire inside at the back of the restaurant.

THe team quickly started ventilating the building to get as much smoke out as fast as possible . Once the smoke cleared our team did a secondary inspection with Thermal Imaging Cameras to insure that the fire was completely out. The cameras were acquired through grant funding.

Also on scene Paris Fire Dept along with Henry County Sheriff Dept .

The Family Table will be closed indefinitely.

A Facebook message from Owners Andrew and Janice Yeomans reads:

“Investigators from TBI should be here tomorrow.
Sadly, we will be closed until everything has been cleared, and we can get things up and running again. Our freezers and walk in cooler did sustain heat damage, and all the food inventory is a loss. Financially, it’s a “Gut punch,” but our family is extremely resilient!
I want you all to know, that I am fully intent on reopening, and continuing our venture at the Table! We will overcome, and return stronger!
The pizzeria should sustain my family, financially, through the holidays. Just going to work a bit harder to increase our business!”
The pizzeria referred to is Nonni’s NY Pizza in downtown Paris.
