Members of the Union City High School Key Club have taken their group’s mission statement to heart.
The club, which focuses on giving back to the community and those within it, has taken several opportunities to serve, build character, and develop leadership qualities with a variety of activities in recent days.
Key Club Members visited UC Elementary School to help students in Krystal Lozier’s Tornado RISE class decorate pumpkins prior to Halloween.
The young students were encouraged and allowed to be expressive with their independent efforts, aided by Key Club members who provided an assortment of faces and designs. Each student received a sweet treat to celebrate their finished project.
A Lunch and Learn hosted by the Key Club featured local First Responders.
Club members learned about the responsibilities of a variety of jobs from a guest speaker list that included Obion County Sherriff Karl Jackson, UC Police Chief Ben Yates, UC Fire Chief Karl Ullrich, and Critical Care Paramedic Donny Robinson.
The Key Club also again sponsored its annual canned food drive, producing nearly 1,000 items collected to help aid the community Feeding of the 5,000.
