HUNTINGDON, Tenn.Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County received its fourth “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog focused on health care safety.

“We are incredibly pleased to receive an ‘A’ from The Leapfrog Group,” said Susan Breeden, chief executive officer and administrator of Baptist Carroll County. “This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to putting patient safety and quality first and is a testament to the excellence of our entire team, from nurses and doctors to support staff.”

The Leapfrog Group assigns grades from “A” to “F” based on more than 30 performance measures. These measures include a hospital’s ability to prevent errors and maintain strong safety systems. This grade reflects the hospital’s dedication to preventing errors, injuries, accidents and infections.

“Earning an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade is a major achievement for Baptist Carroll County,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “This grade shows the hard work and commitment of the hospital’s staff, clinicians and leadership in ensuring patient safety.”

The Leapfrog Group focuses its Hospital Safety Grade on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries, which kill more than 500 patients daily in the United States. The program undergoes peer review, ensures full transparency and is free to the public. The Leapfrog Group updates the grades twice a year, in the fall and spring.
