HUNTINGDON, Tenn.– Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County received its fourth “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog focused on health care safety.

The Leapfrog Group assigns grades from “A” to “F” based on more than 30 performance measures. These measures include a hospital’s ability to prevent errors and maintain strong safety systems. This grade reflects the hospital’s dedication to preventing errors, injuries, accidents and infections.

The Leapfrog Group focuses its Hospital Safety Grade on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries, which kill more than 500 patients daily in the United States. The program undergoes peer review, ensures full transparency and is free to the public. The Leapfrog Group updates the grades twice a year, in the fall and spring.
