Billy Gene Bennett age 85 of Paris, TN, died Saturday, November 9, 2024, at his residence.
Billy Gene was a retired sawmill truck driver. He enjoyed mowing his yard, riding his motorcycle, and watching NASCAR. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He married Patricia “Pat” Tyree Bennett July 3, 1964, who survives of Paris.
Born June 3, 1939, in Paris, he was the son of the late Woodrow Bennett, and the late Aletress L Bain Bennett.
In addition to his wife of sixty years, he is also survived by two children, Christi Shankle, and Ty (Dawn) Bennett, both of Paris; three sisters, Janice O’Neal of Paris, Darnell Stallings of Puryear, TN, and Gail (Charles) VanDyke of Paris; seven grandchildren, Allie Jo Shankle, Hilary Bennett, Dallis Lax, Kathryn Bennett, Dalton Bennett, Daisy Bennett, and Dixie Bennett; and seven great grandchildren.
Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St./P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN 38242, will be handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 4:00 until 7:00 pm., and continue Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 12:00 until 1:30 pm. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Memorial Cemetery with Jeff Baker officiating.
Serving as pallbearers for the service will be Daniel Romero, Dayton Cooper, John LeCroy, James Counce, Landon Stallings, and Colt Stallings. Dixie Gene Bennett and Mason Tayler will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery.
