Chief Dale H. Burress, Sr., 88, of Union City passed away 9:11 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Chief Burress served as Chief for 20 of his 38 years with the department, retiring in 1998.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Ron Gray will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until time of services Friday.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
He is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Burress of Union City; two sons, Dale “Corky” Burress (Shonda) of Drummonds and Dwayne Burress (Betsy) of Franklin; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Wanda Yates of Martin, Sarah Ann Rushing of Spring Hill, Florida and Audrey Waters (Ken) of Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Burress, Sr.
